Finance Ministry issues guidelines on 5-year paid leave scheme

The Ministry of Finance has issued guidelines regulating how public employees can opt for a five-year paid leave scheme that was approved in the 2023 federal budget law. The government hopes that it can downsize its workforce through this scheme by incentivizing government employees to seek alternative careers in the private sector.
