Electoral map begins to take shape amid boycotts and new alliances
The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has extended the deadline for registration of coalitions until May 14 as the electoral map begins to take shape ahead of the upcoming elections in November.
According to its latest figures, there are 66 registered coalitions, including 5 new coalitions registered over the past two weeks. Additionally, there are 331 registered parties, of which 80 have formally registered their intention to compete in the parliamentary election, while another 70 new parties are currently undergoing registration. IHEC has also extended the deadline for voter registration until the end of this month.
