Fewer than expected PMF personnel registered for special voting

Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has announced that 128,000 personnel from the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) will participate in the upcoming election during the special voting day on November 9. This marks the first time that members of the PMF will vote on the day designated for military and security personnel. The special voting process is reserved for members of the armed forces, police, intelligence, and other security agencies to allow them to cast their ballots ahead of the general vote.
