October spending down by 25%, Finance Ministry’s latest figures show

New figures released by the Ministry of Finance today reveal a 25% cut in public spending during the month of October, compared to the previous month. In total, 6.9 trillion IQD ($4.8 billion) was spent, largely by the outgoing government of Mustafa al-Kadhimi during its final month in office. The figures also raise further questions about how billions of dollars were spent by the Ministry of Trade on food rations over the summer.
