Iraq's trade exchange rises in first half of 2024
In the first half of 2024, Iraq's trade exchange with eight leading trade partners amounted to $64 billion USD, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth highlights Iraq's expanding trade relations, driven primarily by crude oil exports, which remains the dominant component of its economic exchange.
This analysis examines Iraq’s trade relationships with China, India, South Korea, the United States, Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. Although there are other key trading partners—most notably Iran, the UAE, and the United Kingdom—updated figures for the first half of 2024 are not yet available.
