Some 19 electoral lists and 14 independent candidates will compete for Ninewa’s 31 parliamentary seats in the upcoming elections. Electoral lists are able to field a maximum of 62 candidates each. Ninewa remains a pivotal battleground for Sunni, Kurdish, and minority parties, and its outcome could heavily influence post-election bargaining over the next government.
