Prime Minister-Designate Zaidi builds support ahead of cabinet vote
A week has passed since Ali Al-Zaidi officially became prime minister-designate. This leaves him three weeks to put together a government and convince MPs to approve his proposed cabinet. A prime minister-designate does not need to fill all his ministries in order to become prime minister. Rather, just over half of the allotted cabinet seats must be filled in order for a prime minister to hold and pass votes in cabinet meetings.
