The sentencing of security personnel found responsible for dereliction of duty during the attacks on the Swedish embassy in Baghdad in June has provoked a strongly worded reaction from Muqtada Al-Sadr towards the Sudani government. Sadr’s followers twice attacked the embassy in Baghdad in response to the desecration of a copy of the Quran by an Iraqi national in Sweden.
