Is the government mulling a revaluation of the Iraqi dinar?

Speculation is rife about whether the government intends to revalue the Iraqi dinar in response to growing public outrage over the slide in the national currency. Iraqi officials have remained tight-lipped about whether a potential revaluation is being considered, but during last week’s televised interview, PM Sudani did not rule out the option, suggested that it would be up to the Central Bank to decide whether the exchange rate should be adjusted in the 2023 federal budget.
