Key takeaways from Zaidi's ministerial curriculum

Prime Minister-Designate Ali Al-Zaidi met with Speaker Haybat Al-Halbusi on Thursday and presented him with his ministerial curriculum (al-minhaj al-wizari), which is a document that parliament must approve alongside the ministers in his cabinet as stipulated in Article 76 of the constitution. The ministerial curriculum sets out the government’s broad policy priorities and includes a number of key commitments that it is expected to fulfil.

A more comprehensive “government programme” (al-barnamij al-hukumi) will then be produced by the new government within the first couple of months that lays out a far more detailed plan on how the government intends to meet its policy commitments.
